14/07/2008 - XFM Radio SlotFollowing on from Stop The Blackout's recent Academy 2 success with 'One Night Only', Stop The Blackout have been selected by XFM's Clint Boon to appear in their weekly unsigned band competition. Results will be posted here as soon as the competition draws to a conclusion.
12/07/2008 - Academy 3 Headline Gig AnnouncedOn the 31st of October, Stop The Blackout will be playing a very special headline gig at Manchester Academy 3. Support is yet to be confirmed but expect a brand new set full of new material.

12/05/2008 - Live DVDOur up and coming 'One Night Only' gig is to be filmed and edited onto DVD. That means if you did not get chance to come and watch the show, we'll be uploading videos as soon as we have them.
12/05/2008 - Photo ShootIn conjuction with the Academy 2 gig, we'll be having a brand new photoshoot. Details and images will be online very soon.
12/05/2008 - Gigs & Mailing ListIn the very near future, we'll be arranging some very special gigs so watch this space or sign up to the mailing list to receive all the latest news and updates from the band.

29/04/2008 - Academy 2Stop The Blackout will be supporting ‘One Night Only’ (Mercury / Vertigo Records) on Tuesday 13th May 2008 @ Manchester Academy 2. If the band chooses so, then Stop The Blackout will be doing some recording for Vertigo Records.
28/04/2008 - Single ReleaseA date is being planned for the Single release… It will be limited to 250 copies only… This will be ‘These Eyes’ / ‘In Your Hands’… To support the release, new images and more website content will appear.

22/04/2008 - Stop The Blackout to support 'One Night Only'We have been chosen personally by the band ‘One Night Only’ to possibly support them @ Manchester Academy 2 this May. This has become a competition and we are one of three acts. We could support them and then record for Vertigo Records! Those of you who know our music well, know we are a very true and are a hardworking band. Help us and vote for Stop The Blackout. ‘These Eyes’ will be our debut single. Any vote we get will help us greatly.

15/01/2008 - ThanksTo everyone that came to our first come back gig at Dry Bar last Saturday. Manchester Music have kindly placed a review of the gig upon their site. We have also booked several more gigs and will be booking more in the very near future.
08/01/2008 - CD ReleaseThe new year is already becomming a busy one for Stop The Blackout. The debut release is currently being mixed and will be out soon. Details will follow shortly.

10/12/2007 - New Songs OnlineTwo new songs have been uploaded to the bands Myspace and Official Website. 'These Eyes' and 'In Your Hands' are set to released in the summer of 2008. Send your reviews to info@stoptheblackout.com.
09/12/2007 - Gig UpdateThe bands debut gig of 2008 will be at Dry Bar in Manchester with the mighty Vessels from Leeds (who are currently recording their debut album in the USA). 17/10/2007 - Single Release DateA date has finally been set for the release of the debut single. Summer 2008 is when you can get your hands on the official first release. Details to be announced soon along with a preview of the artwork.
16/10/2007 - Photoshoot DetailsThe bands latest photoshoot taken in September 2007 by Paul Hyde will be online very soon. Previous work, mostly taken by Barrie Thompson during 2007 shall also be online within the coming weeks.

01/09/2007 - Single Release Coming SoonThe band's first single as 'Stop The Blackout' is currently being put together. All songs are currently being mastered and the artwork is about to go to press. Please check back for updates on the single.

27/08/2007 - Virgin UK/Virgin USHaving recently performed an In Store Performance at Virgin Megastores in Manchester’s Arndale, the band have been invited back to Virgin to perform once again. Slots at other Virgin stores are being discussed; dates and information will be online once confirmed. Currently being arranged are as follows:

24/08/2007 - Manchester Academy 3Tonight a project was finished which took just over 5 years to complete. The send off was held at Manchester’s infamous Academy 3 tonight supporting The Tides and Juno Ashes. A review can be found at Manchester Music.
