Single details for Oxygen plus behind the scenes footage

Stop The Blackout are pleased to announce that the forthcoming single due out on Monday 16th April will be Oxygen. The track will be release through IFM Records and available digitally. The video for Oxygen was shot in Worsely, Chadderton and Rusholme in Manchester by KC Locke Media. More details of the single will be released in February, but for now enjoy a behind the scenes video of some of the filming.

Live TV debut announced

This Monday (28th November) Stop The Blackout will perform two tracks from their forthcoming debut album including the single ‘Headlights!’ on the sports channel ESPN. The show will be aired at 6.30pm and is called Talk Of The Terrace. If you do not have ESPN you can still watch it if you can contact your provider and request it for a day’s viewing.

Good morning everyone. Stop The Blackout are pleased to announce that their debut single, Headlights!, is now available for purchase across the world. The single is available on iTunes, Amazon and other major online stores. For any fan who downloads the single, contact the band and you'll receive a free download of two live tracks recently recorded.

Headlights! was recorded and mixed in Liverpool at Motor Museum Studios with Arctic Monkeys co-producer Simon Cullwick and mastered in 24/94 in Karlsruhe, Germany by Robin Schmidt.

To celebrate the release, the single launch party will be at the Ruby Lounge, Manchester on Friday 18th November. Tickets will be £6 and doors will be open from 7.30pm. Support comes from the fantastic Lovechild and Enemies Eyes.

Stop The Blackout will be releasing their debut single 'Headlights!' on Monday 14th November through IFM Records. The single launch party will be at the Ruby Lounge, Manchester on Friday 18th November. Tickets are £6 and doors are at 7.30pm. Support comes from the amazing Lovechild and the fantastic Enemies Eyes, both brilliant Manchester bands to watch out for.

The night should be a special one with Stop The Blackout playing an hour set of old and new material. There will be some free give-away's on the night too. It would be great if everyone could get down for the full night to support the every band. Tickets for the night can be purchased through the band, through our Facebook Event or from Ticketline.

Stop The Blackout have been getting some pretty impressive amounts of radio play this week. So far Stop The Blackout have been played by NME Radio, the fantastic Alex James on Q Radio and BFBS Radio. Another trip to MCFC for their Xmas Party

Stop The Blackout have just confirmed another gig with Manchester City Football Club at the Etihad Stadium. After a successful end of season awards show last May, they have been given the opportunity to play at their Xmas Party on Wednesday the 21st of December. Not only will they be playing, they'll be playing alongside the mighty Kid British for a second time.

We are pleased to announce that the debut single will be ‘Headlights!’ The release date has now been moved to Monday 14th November and will be released through London based IndieFish Records. An in dependant label who believe in great music. This will be available digitally on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify (and all other usual places) and can be bought over text message. More details of the single will be released leading up to the release so please check back for more info.

New EP

Stop The Blackout have been working really hard leading up to the release of ‘Headlights!’ working on new material. The band are recording 6 new tracks in their studio, titled The Athlete, Far Away, On The Sky, Away From Here, Spring Fields and Part 2: Oxygen. With the release of ‘Headlights!’ on November 14th, some of these tracks will feature on the EP version, and others on the deluxe version.

MCFC Awards

Stop The Blackout would like to thank Manchester City Football Club for their support this year. The band attended the player of the year awards and performed for some top industry people for City Sound in the day. The performance was then shown later that evening to the squad and the band were interviewed besides the F.A Cup. A day to remember indeed. Any images and recordings will be posted shortly.

Demo Recordings

Stop The Blackout have recently been recording some demo tracks with JBee at SSR College in Manchester. The Athlete, On The Sky and Far Away were recorded a couple of weeks ago and we are awaiting the final mix, which will be available online. City Of Manchester Stadium Gig

We're playing at the City Of Manchester Stadium before the Wolves this Saturday. Key 103 contacted the band and asked us to play for them and Manchester City. We will be on stage @ 2.15pm. We will be playing 3 songs before kick off at City Sound @ City Square on the purpose built stage... The set is FREE and will be filmed for City & Key 103 and shown at half time... Dirty South is a bar in the middle of Lewisham, and sort of stands out on the street corner. Maybe it's the huge sign that is bigger than the door. It's Modest unmissable presence included, It is instantly recognisable as a music bar. and inside, it is a venue. A good one, At that.

Just A Small Update...

2009 has been a quiet year for the band as plans changed. The band has been focusing on their direction and has spent the year writing and rehearsing. There are big plans for 2010. A new website will be launched, a series of gigs are to be announced, a new photoshoot will be online and some new recording, recorded at Motor Museum in Liverpool will be released.
